Sunset Mania — Privacy Policy

Sunset Mania is made by Etem Uyar ("I", "me"). This policy explains what the app does and doesn't do with your information. The short version: the app has no accounts, collects no personal data for me, shows no ads, and includes no tracking or analytics.
The short version
- No account, no sign-up, no personal profile.
- I don't collect, store, or receive any of your data. There is no Sunset Mania server.
- Your saved locations, shot log, ratings, and settings stay on your device.
- Your location coordinates are sent only to the weather and mapping providers listed below, and only to fetch your forecast — never to me, never stored, never tied to your identity, and never used to track you.
- No advertising, no third-party analytics, no tracking across apps or websites.
Location
If you enable location, the app uses your device's coordinates to fetch the forecast for where you are. You can also skip GPS entirely and pin a location manually.
To turn coordinates into a useful forecast, the app sends them to third-party weather and mapping services (listed below) — this is the same as any weather app and is required for the app to work. Those requests are made directly from your device to those providers. I never receive, see, or store your location. Coordinates are not linked to your identity and are not used for advertising or tracking.
Data stored on your device
The following is saved locally on your device (using Apple's standard storage) and is not transmitted to me:
- Saved and pinned locations
- Your shot log — predictions, star ratings, and notes
- App settings and preferences
Deleting the app removes this data from your device. Because none of it is stored on a server, there is nothing for me to delete on my end.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions and the Lifetime unlock are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. I never see or receive your payment details. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Whether you own Premium is determined on your device by asking Apple directly; I don't run any purchase database.
Third-party services
The app connects directly to these services to provide forecasts and features. When it does, your request (which may include your coordinates) is subject to that provider's own privacy policy:
- Open-Meteo — weather, air-quality, elevation, and location search data.
- BigDataCloud — reverse geocoding (turning coordinates into a place name).
- N2YO — satellite pass predictions, including the International Space Station.
- Apple — Maps (MapKit) and App Store purchases (StoreKit).
I do not control these services and am not responsible for their practices, but I chose them because they can be used without an account and without identifying you.
Advertising, analytics, and tracking
There is none. Sunset Mania contains no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics, and no tracking technologies. The app does not ask for permission to track you across other apps or websites, because it never does.
Children
Sunset Mania is a general-audience utility rated 4+. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
Your rights (GDPR, CCPA, and similar)
Because I don't collect or store your personal data, there is no personal data held by me to access, correct, delete, or export. Data held on your device is fully under your control and is removed when you delete the app. For data handled by the third-party providers above, please contact them directly using the links provided.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, I'll update it on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
