What the app does

Sunset Mania scores your exact sunset, sunrise, and night-sky hours ahead of time, so you know whether the light is worth chasing before you pack the camera. It reads the forecast right at your event time — not the current conditions — and gives you a 0–100 score with a plain verdict: Grab your camera, Maybe, or Skip.

Frequently asked questions

Why did tonight's score change since this morning?
Forecasts firm up as the moment gets closer. A great-looking evening two days out is a hint, not a promise — check again a couple of hours before. The app shows a confidence marker so you know how much to trust the current outlook.

Do I have to share my GPS location?
No. You can grant location for automatic local forecasts, or skip GPS entirely and pin any location by hand in Settings → Location. The app works fully either way.

What's free and what's Premium?
Free: tonight and tomorrow, the 3-day outlook, golden-hour timing and sun direction, the home/lock-screen widget, and your shot log. Premium adds the extended 16-day calendar, moon and photo-intel signals, the stargazing forecast (including visible ISS passes), the worth-the-drive map, and custom threshold alerts.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by the app. On your device: open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Sunset Mania, then change or cancel. If you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. The Lifetime unlock is a one-time purchase — there's nothing to cancel.

I paid but Premium isn't showing / I got a new phone.
Open the paywall (tap any locked feature) and tap Restore Purchases. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with, your Premium will come back.

Is the 7-day free trial really free?
Yes. The annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Cancel any time before it ends (via the Subscriptions screen above) and you won't be charged.

Where does the data come from?
Weather from Open-Meteo, satellite pass predictions from N2YO, place names from BigDataCloud, and maps from Apple. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How accurate is it?
It's a forecast, so treat it as a well-informed second opinion, not a guarantee. Rate what you actually saw in the shot log and, over time, the app learns how well its calls match your real evenings.
